You can turn an option on/off so you can pinch your screen. Don't know the exact name, but it can be done!

On Chrome it does seem to get stuck before starting the game (which is pretty weird). If I tap in the bottom right of the square display to pull up the menu then dismiss that again, then the controls seem to work again and I can play the game. It's not a perfect solution, but it might work for you.

I'll see if I can puzzle out what's really going on.
